Stop Mental Spinning

I understand that being informed about Covid is important.  That being said, it seems as thought the media is stuck in negative and big reaction land.  There are lots of things going on, but if you can't seem to stop your brain from spinning those issues around when you are trying to relax, try these things as seen in Health magazine.

  1. When was the last time that you did something that helped you relax?  Focus on things that have worked in the past.  Is there something that friends keep recommending that you try, but for some reason you haven't?  Give any of those a try.  Remember that we are almost always worrying about the past or the future.  Try to be grateful and calm about what you have right now.
  2. If you have a bad day and can't seem to shake it, think about yesterday or the last good day you have had.  Think about all of the things that are the same as that good day, or think about things that you can easily change to make your day better.
  3. Remember what is important right now.  Sometimes, we are too hard on ourselves and we wonder about big issues, like - where do I want to be in 6 months?  Try to break this down into what you can do today to get you moving toward that bigger goal.

Be kind and gentle with yourself.
